Pocatello -- David Spillett will lead the Century Diamondbacks varsity football team.
He was selected from an excellent list of candidates by a selection committee consisting of administration, faculty and community representation. “We were all very impressed with his vision for the future of Century High School athletics,” said Athletic Director Steve Anderson.
Spillett has eight years experience coaching at Century. He coached football and basketball including Freshman, Junior Varsity and Varsity levels. “We are excited to see the benefit of Coach Spillett’s skills,” said Anderson. Most recently, Spillett coached the Varsity Football Quarterbacks and was Assistant Offensive Coordinator. “I’m very excited for this great opportunity,” said Spillett. “Century is a school of academic excellence and I expect the same of our football program,” he added, “something I believe we can achieve.”
Coach Spillett is employed by Idaho Power and was an athletic standout as a high school athlete in the Pocatello/Chubbuck School District.
